Uma puts a ring back on

Following recent photographs of Kill Bill star Uma Thurman reunited with ex-fiance Arpad Busson, the actress was spotted wearing a diamond ring on her left hand earlier this week while walking her son, Levon, home from school in NYC (pictured, left).

Neither reps for Thurman, nor the millionaire Swiss financier, are talking, adding fuel to rumours that the couple have not only reconciled, but have kickstarted their engagement again.

The pair split late last year following two years together, only to be seen getting close in London and New York multiple times this month. Thurman was previously married to actors Gary Oldman and Ethan Hawke, with whom she has son Levon, 8, and 11-year-old daughter Maya, and Busson has sons Flynn, 11, and Cy, 6, with ex-fiancee, supermodel Elle MacPherson.

Really Ridiculous: Miley's rep shoots down engagement rumours

Just because Macaulay Culkin did it, and just because Jamie-Lynn Spears and Bristol Palin were forced to do it to protect their teen mom-affected public images, doesn't mean that it's worth starting rumours about.

Recently, not-pregnant nor certifiably insane 17-year-old Miley Cyrus (she's just kind of a slutty kid, really) was spotted in L.A. wearing a ring on her left hand, leading gossipists to decide it must mean she's getting married her Aussie actor boyfriend, 19-year-old Liam Hemsworth.

"Miley's not engaged," promised her rep. Some research by a Disney fansite concluded that Cyrus owned the ring before she met Hemsworth, and she wore it on her ring finger even then.

Hemsworth and Cyrus began dating in late summer, during filming of their upcoming film, The Last Song, in Tennessee. Previously, Cyrus dated musician Nick Jonas and wannabe Justin Gaston.

Live Aid symbol weds in Ethiopian homeland

At Live Aid in 1984, Ethiopian famine survivor Birhan Woldu became a symbol of the hunger plight in Africa at just three years old. Her starving face became synonymous with the objectives of the international concert campaign, headed by Boomtown Rat Sir Bob Geldof. Recently, Geldof said of Woldu, "Birhan is the daughter of Band Aid. I feel like her stepfather." For the Live 8 reboot in 2005, Wolde appeared on stage in London with Madonna.

In an exclusive report by Britain's The Sun newspaper, on Sunday, January 10, 2010, Woldu was married to fellow famine survivor Birhanu Meresa, an agricultural worker, whom she met six years ago at an agricultural college.

The Ethiopian Orthodox Christian ceremony, which included the exchanging of rings and a blessing from a local priest, took place in Qwiha, northern Ethiopia. The bride wore a traditional white dress and veil, and the groom wore a grey suit that matched the colour of the bridesmaids' dresses.

David Stables, head of British charity A-CET, which has helped with Wolde's education, said of the wedding, "It was an elaborate and moving ceremony."

"My life is wonderful, I'm so happy, Birhanu's a lovely man," Wolde told The Sun. "I now want to have two children - one girl and one boy - for my life to be complete."

Wedding bells for Geri Halliwell?

Following a short-lived engagement to Italian businessman Fabrizio Politi in early 2009, Spice Girl Geri Halliwell began dating wealthy aristocrat Henry Beckwith in April, and now British tabs are reporting that the couple are planning to wed.

Spotted at St. John Parish Church in Hampstead, London, with longtime friend Kenny Goss (George Michael's long-term partner, in spite of Michael's need to have sex with strange men in park bushes), Halliwell reportedly met with the church vicar for an hour, after which she and Goss headed straight to boutique tailor Thom Sweeney.

The source tailing the pair asked, "Who should we be congratulating on the wedding?" Goss immediately pointed at Halliwell before catching himself and saying: "Erm, I mean both of us."

"Geri was giggling, and seemed really excited," the source added. "She wouldn't say what they were doing, but Kenny let the cat out the bag."

This would be Halliwell's first marriage. She has a daughter, 3-year-old Bluebell, from a relationship with screenwriter Sacha Gervasi.

Together since the final days of his contentious divorce in 2008 from charity-loving celebrity psychopath Heather Mills, Beatle Sir Paul McCartney and his wealthy American socialite girlfriend Nancy Shevell are reportedly set to wed, according to The Daily Mail. At left, they're pictured together on the red carpet at Sunday's Golden Globes.

With Shevell's own divorce just recently finalized, the Mail reports that McCartney has proposed and the couple are telling friends they plan to wed. A source told the paper, "Paul is deliriously happy with Nancy and decided she was the woman he wanted to make his third wife."

Fashion designer daughter Stella, who famously disliked Mills, is said to be a fan of Shevell's, and Mills herself praised McCartney's potential future wife, saying, "My daughter says she's wonderful."

He has a six-year-old daughter, Beatrice, with Mills. Shevell has a teenage son from her recently-ended marriage to Bruce Blakeman.

Derek Jeter's secret wedding plans blown?

So much for keeping things off the radar - New York Yankees superstar shortstop, Derek Jeter, and his actress girlfriend, Minka Kelly, have never even come out and admitted they're a couple. They rarely get photographed together and have never confirmed reports of an August engagement, but it's the worst kept secret in the colliding worlds of major league sports and their Hollywood love lives.

Add their reported wedding date and venue to the list of poorly-kept secrets, and by now the couple may have already tried to make alternate wedding arrangements in order to keep their privacy.

A New York Post reporter got down and dirty recently, posing as a bride-to-be attempting to book a wedding at Oheka Castle - the location of Kevin Jonas' wedding one month ago - in Huntington, New York for November 5, 2010.

The castle - the second-largest private residence in the United States - has hosted lavish parties for royalty, politicians, and celebs for close to 100 years, and is equipped to hold one wedding per day. Showing her a print-out of the castle's wedding schedule, Oheka's sales manager denied her request, stating that the hotel was completely booked that weekend, and Jeter's name was clearly visible.

The reporter asked if the venue would be willing to ask the booked weeding to move for a price, and the sales manager laughed and said their clients were usually so wealthy it wasn't an issue.

"I guess if it were Derek Jeter getting married, he really wouldn't care about my money," the reporter suggested, but the sales manager was quick on his feet.

"Oh, that's not Derek Jeter," he said. "We wouldn't use his real name if it were. When the Jonas brother got married here last month, we used a different name."

It's rumoured that the wedding will take place in Idaho later this year - it will be the first marriage for both. Padalecki was previously engaged to actress Sandra McCoy in 2007.

There must be something in the water at the CW show - last fall, it was announced that Padalecki's costar, Jensen Ackles, was engaged to wed One Tree Hill star Danneel Harris.

Royal wedding bells to ring?

The buzz on when Britain's heir to the throne, Prince William, will wed his longtime girlfriend, Kate Middleton, is growing larger, and it would seem that a royal wedding could happen within the next year, or possibly in 2011.

According to sources quoted on PopEater.com, Queen Elizabeth II has made it clear to her grandson that she wants him to have a princess at his side by the time of her Diamond Jubilee (that's 60 years on the throne) in 2012.

"The Queen is planning six months of celebrations leading up to the February anniversary of her coronation for herself and will not be upstaged by a royal wedding. This is her time to shine, no one else's," the source is quoted as saying.

Our opinion? A wedding between William and "Waity Katie," as the poor girl's been dubbed after spending the past eight years as the prince's one-and-only, would only serve to help the Queen celebrate her 60th anniversary at the top. Despite that disastrously receding hairline and huge old teeth, wealthy William landed a pretty, popular girlfriend and those that care, they want a wedding. Kate's injection by marriage into the royal family will only help their public image.

We think that a wedding is bound to happen, but why force them into it? God forbid they wait until they know for sure that they're ready; the family's been through enough divorces.

Kourtney and Kim Kardashian: Not engaged

Their younger sister Khloe met and married LA Lakers star Lamar Odom within a month last fall, but celebutante Kim Kardashian went on record recently to debunk rumours that her older sister, Kourtney, was engaged to her boyfriend Scott Disick.

"They are not engaged to be married," Kim, 29, said during an interview with Dallas-based radio show Kidd Kraddick in the Morning. "I don't think Kourtney really is thinking about that right now. She's not really focused on getting married. I don't think she wants that responsibility right now. She's just having a good time loving being a mom. And I think she's just going to stick with that for right now."

Kourtney and Disick welcomed son Mason Dash on December 14th.

Jamie Cullum and Sophie Dahl wed!

Following through on reports, The Daily Mail was right: British model Sophie Dahl and jazz musician Jamie Cullum were married on Saturday, January 9, 2010 in a winter wonderland-themed wedding at Lime Wood, an estate hotel in the heart of the New Forest, Hampshire in the south of England.

The couple, together since 2007, were married in a private ceremony for friends and family, and Dahl was reportedly thrilled over the country's recent snow woes because it only served to add to her wedding's theme. Guests were banned from bringing cameras to the ceremony and the couple turned down a lucrative offer from a magazine to exclusively cover the wedding day.

Dahl, wearing an ivory-coloured Versace-style gown, was walked down the aisle by her father, actor Julian Holloway. The venue was decorated by candlelight and flowers of blue eucalyptus, white roses, and black hypericum - her favourite flowers.

Cullum, who proposed to Dahl, great-granddaughter of author Roald, in March 2008, performed a song at the reception written especially for his new bride.

This is the first marriage for both.

Amy Adams gives proposal advice

Engaged to longtime boyfriend, actor Darren Legallo, and expecting a baby with him this spring, actress Amy Adams shared the story of his proposal at the recent premiere of her new film, Leap Year, with OK!

“He put a ring on it,” she said. “He had come into town, and planned a very romantic dinner. He had a whole proposal in mind, and I wanted to go see a play, so he had to improvise. He did a great job.”

As for advice for potential female proposers - her film is all about a woman who flies to Ireland to propose to her boyfriend on Leap Day - Adams says, “I think it depends on the relationship. If the guy’s pretty laidback about it, then absolutely they should go ahead and propose. But I know my guy is a perfectionist — and he was gonna propose.”

Adams and Legallo were engaged in 2008. They have yet to set a wedding date; this will be the first marriage for both.

LA Kings' defenseman shares wedding photos

Back on Saturday, July 11, 2009, Los Angeles Kings' defenseman Sean O'Donnell made good use of the offseason to marry his girlfriend, Laura Marie Buka. The classic vintage-themed wedding took place at Fort Street Presbyterian Church in Detroit, Michigan in front of family and friends including some of O'Donnell's present and former NHL teammates - Rob Blake, Drew Doughty, and Luc Robitaille. A reception followed in nearby Dearborn at the Henry Ford Museum.

“For my family to see me so happy and in love with a wonderful man was the highlight,” said Buka. “We’re best friends, and celebrating our day with all our closest friends and family meant the world to me.”

Buka wore a strapless Renee Strauss gown and a floor-length veil she made herself, while the bridesmaids were outfitted in gowns from David's Bridal.

At the reception, the guests dined at candlelit tables under crystal chandeliers, and watched the newlyweds share their first dance to "Let It Be Me" by Taylor Mills and Joe Brocato in a room at the Henry Ford Museum originally built to teach Ford employees the techniques of ballroom dance.

The couple, who got tattoos on their ring fingers with each other's names to celebrate their engagement, honeymooned in Greece and Italy.

Cheryl Cole doesn't wear ring for fashion

British pop star Cheryl Cole, who married English footballer Ashley Cole in a $1.5 million ceremony in 2006, has been spotted recently without her diamond engagement ring. The move has led to rumours that the couple's marriage, rocked by reports that he had cheated in 2008, was in trouble.

But the former Cheryl Tweedy is adamant that she only removes her ring in the name of fashion, telling Britain's Glamour magazine, "Do people really think I'm going to have an argument and take my ring off? It was a fashion statement more than a marriage statement. As my wedding ring is yellow it doesn't go with everything."

Robbie Williams wants Valentine's Day wedding?

The rumours don't stop coming. Following the rumour that rapper Jay-Z would like to plan pop singer Robbie Williams' upcoming wedding to actress Ayda Field (which is itself still just a rumour), comes reports that the couple will marry on Valentine's Day next month.

A source close to Williams told Britain's Daily Star that, "Robbie doesn't want to have a long, drawn-out engagement. When he gets something in his head, there's no stopping him. He's asked all his friends and family to keep the entire week free leading up to February 14, so they can have a week-long celebration before Valentine's Day. He has asked best friend Jonathan Wilkes to be best man and it's likely Take That will perform."

Robbie is said to have booked two potential venues in Santa Barbara, California for the wedding, and is planning week-long celebrations with family and friends. The celebrity guest list is expected to include Robbie's former Take That bandmates Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Mark Owen and Jason Orange.

CSI: Miami's Eva LaRue again engaged to John Cappuccio

After appearing on the cover of InStyle Weddings last spring, discussing her wedding plans to businessman John Cappuccio, actress Eva LaRue of CSI: Miami fame has again announced their engagement.

The couple initially got engaged in 2008 while on a romantic holiday at Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, after an elephant ride and a helicopter tour over the Falls, but split before a planned Caribbean wedding in June 2009. Reconciling in November, Cappuccio again proposed while the couple dined together in Bora Bora to celebrate the New Year's holiday. Apparently, including an elephant in your proposal is suddenly in style.

Arriving together at the Palm Springs International Film Festival on Tuesday, LaRue showed off her four-carat cushion-cut diamond engagement ring, surrounded by smaller pink stones. Discussing wedding plans, LaRue said the couple is eyeing a destination wedding - maybe in Thailand - and could be married within six months.

La Rue was once married to Family Feud host John O'Hurley, and has a daughter, eight-year-old Kaya, with her second husband, former All My Children costar John Callahan.

Shakira no closer to marrying fiance

Colombian "She Wolf" singer Shakira was recently spotted wandering the beach hand in hand with her fiance, Antonio de la Rua, in Punta del Este, Uruguay - close to where she owns a ranch. In spite of their happiness together, the couple is in no hurry to wed.

The couple are approaching their tenth anniversary. After de la Rua proposed in 2001, it was reported that the pair would marry in 2007 at her home in the Dominican Republic, but it never happened. Media then either speculated that the private pair had wed in secret or had split, but neither turned out to be true.

On her Twitter last September, Shakira addressed the rumours by saying, "We are neither married nor fighting. We are very together and very good. 9 years!"

Carrie Underwood wants a big-haired wedding

Currently planning her wedding to Ottawa Senators hockey star Mike Fisher, country singer Carrie Underwood was happy to display her $150,000 yellow-diamond Johnathon Arndt engagement ring - offering a much better view than the first glimpse a few weeks ago at a Senators' home game.

She talked to both Us and People while she navigated the red carpet at last night's People's Choice Awards, offering both some details on her wedding plans.

She told Us, "I bought a lot of magazines and am cutting out pictures. I have a folder and I cut out pictures and glue them in. It’s in kind of a binder thing."

Of her dress, the undecided star says she'll probably go with, "someone I’ve worked with before that I know I can work well with" to design it. "I want something pretty traditional," she said. "Maybe with flowers on it - not like real flowers!"

Telling People that all she really wants is "a groom, good food, and an open bar," she told them of how she hoped to look on her big day: "I'm Southern. I like big hair and eyeliner. I want my wedding day to be me, so I'll probably be rocking some big hair and some eyeliner."

The newly engaged couple have not yet set a wedding date.

How Russell Brand proposed to Katy Perry

Confirming their engagement after less than four months of dating, People dug up some details on how comedian Russell Brand proposed to singer Katy Perry. The couple stayed for a few days in a presidential suite at the Taj Rambagh Palace in Jaipur, India, and for dinner one night, Brand asked the hotel to arrange a special dining experience for the couple.

They ate under the stars in the garden lit by candles, and at midnight enjoyed New Year's fireworks while sitting on an elephant (at Brand's request). When Perry found a diamond ring hidden in some flowers, Brand proposed and she accepted.

There are some reports that the couple could marry in Britain within the next six months, but Brand's rep could not confirm the timing of the wedding or that he had purchased the ring before Christmas, when paparazzi spotted him at Cartier in London.

Bachelorette Jillian Harris sets wedding date

Recently, RadarOnline interviewed Chris Harrison, the host of the Bachelor series, to get scoop on the current season, starring pilot Jake Pavelka.

During the interview, he also revealed that last season's star, restaurant designer Jillian Harris, had set a wedding date with her final rose choice, Chicago exec Ed Swiderski.

"They have a time, a date, and a place set, and despite what was crazily reported and all that stuff, they are doing fantastic!"

Last summer, when Harris selected Swiderski on the show and they announced their engagement, some of Swiderski's ex-girlfriend's claimed he had cheated on Jillian since taping had finished. With their celebrity status, being attacked is part of the deal but to be attacked like they were absolutely affected them and it was tough for them to deal with. I mean they kind of leaned on the producers, leaned on me, and leaned on their friends, and they've just tried to get away from it.

"With their celebrity status, being attacked is part of the deal - but to be attacked like they were absolutely affected them and it was tough for them to deal with. They're kind of like, 'What the hell are you gonna do?' They are living their lives and they are doing good."

Harrison didn't give any hints on the where and when of the couple's nuptuals. It has previously been reported that the couple were eyeing a simple wedding this summer.

She also recounted the story of how she and her longtime fiance, director Darren Aronofsky, met.

"I didn't want this cool, indie director to see me in this stretch limo. But as I stepped out, he was waiting there. I was like, 'Argh! Shit!' I felt like such an idiot!"

Weisz, star of the The Lovely Bones, has previously spoken of being in no hurry to tie the knot with the director, with whom she has a three-year-old son, Henry.

Access Hollywood covers Kevin Jonas' wedding

People magazine got the print rights to the December 19th wedding of Kevin Jonas and Danielle Deleasa, and it looks like Access Hollywood were the exclusive invited guests for TV. Joey Fatone, formerly of N' Sync and now one of the show's hosts, even played wedding photographer. A JoBros' fan lovingly recorded the segment with her video camera while it aired live on TV, and posted it on YouTube. Thanks random fangirl!

In the clip, above, see the newlyweds exchange tearful traditional vows, see the elaborate, beautifully decorated reception hall inside Oheka Castle, and see Kevin's brothers Nick and Joe bust a move on the dance floor with the bridesmaids.
