What we've been missing

We admit it, we've been gone for too long, and some high profile celeb weddings, engagements, and break ups have proven that to us. Just a few:

Actors Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green were married in Hawaii June 24th, with only his son Kassius there to witness - and the photographer who showed the world this gorgeous wedding portrait:
And on July 11th, Green's ex-girlfriend, General Hospital star Vanessa Marcil (Kassius' mom), married CSI:NY star Carmine Giovinazzo.

We also missed the weddings of celluloid supercouple Jim and Pam of The Office. Jenna Fischer married Lee Kirk on July 3rd - Survivor's Jeff Probst officiated! - with many costars there to witness, but not her TV husband John Krasinski. Only because one week later, Krasinski married British actress Emily Blunt in Como, Italy at the home of their friend George Clooney.Just a month after announcing their engagement, on July 22nd Australian model Miranda Kerr and British actor Orlando Bloom were married. Friends now seem to be confirming that the couple is expecting their first child - making Miranda Kerr also highly susceptible to whatever in the water is making every Victoria's Secret model get pregnant.Spanish actors Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz were married in early July in The Bahamas, and Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart eloped at the Governor's mansion in Santa Fe, New Mexico June 15th. Alanis Morissette married rapper Mario "Souleye" Treadway May 22nd at their L.A. home - and just this week announced they're expecting their first child in December.
British actress Gemma Arterton, who starred as a Bond Girl in Casino Royale and opposite Jake Gyllenhaal in The Prince of Persia, married boyfriend Stefano Catelli on a Spanish hilltop in Zuheros, Andalucia June 5th. She compared her wedding dress to a scene in Franco Zeffirelli's Romeo & Juliet where the female protagonist is wrapped up in a sheet, saying "She looks so gorgeous! My wedding dress is kind of like that." Catelli proposed last year at the Download Music Festival in Derby, UK.

Funny stars Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher married in Paris in front of just six guests on Valentine's Day. Their second child is due this summer and will join sister Olive, 2.R&B singer Alicia Keys, five months pregnant, married rapper Swizz Beatz on the island of Corsica in the Mediterranean July 31st. Rapper T.I. got out of jail and married his longtime girlfriend and the mother of two of his kids, Tameka Cottle, in a Miami courthouse July 30th. And Carmelo Anthony of the Denver Nuggets married former MTV personality LaLa Vasquez in New York City on July 10th - it proved to be a fairly popular day - Anthony and Vasquez, Krasinski and Blunt, Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher, and Martin Lawrence and girlfriend Shamicka Hill we're all married today.
Glee star Jane Lynch married girlfriend Dr. Lara Embry on May 28th in Massachusetts - where same-sex marriage is legal, with Embry's 8-year-old daughter there to witness.
Piers Morgan, British journalist and judge on reality shows including America's Got Talent, was married to girlfriend Celia Walden in the UK on June 24th, with a who's who of celeb friends from across the pond in attendance - but not his good friend Simon Cowell, who recently gave up his serial bachelorhood to announce his intent to wed American Idol make-up artist Mezghan Hussainy. Actress Mena Suvari married music producer Simone Sestito in Vatican City on June 26th, wearing a strapless dress by Stacey Bendet of alice + olivia despite previously expressing a desire to cover her tattoos with a gown with plenty of fabric.
Both stars of the CW's Supernatural got married! Jared Padalecki to Genevieve Cortese February 27th, and Jensen Ackles to Danneel Harris of One Tree Hill May 15th.
Among the newly engaged celebs are Ugly Betty star America Ferreira to longtime boyfriend Ryan Piers Williams, Linda Hogan (Hulk's ex) to her 21-year-old boyfriend Charlie Hill, Sister, Sister star Tamera Mowry got engaged to Fox News' Adam Housely on vacation in Italy (for the second time - they were previously engaged but broke it off, reportedly due to the fact that Tamera's twin sister Tia is no fan of her future brother-in-law), and country singers Kellie Pickler and Miranda Lambert were both engaged this spring - Pickler to boyfriend Kyle Jacobs, who proposed on the beach June 15th, and Lambert to fellow country musician Blake Shelton.
The very day teen mom Bristol Palin and ex-boyfriend Levi Johnson announced they were back together and engaged, she discovered he might have gotten another girl pregnant when they weren't together and they split - again. Also ending their engagements: former Bachelorette couple Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski, most recent Bachelor couple Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi, and Brit Kelly Osbourne and model boyfriend Luke Worrall. Just days after announcing the end of the engagement over rumoured allegations of Worrall's cheating, Osbourne's dog died. Guess she's got the Jessica Simpson curse. And finally, actors Hayden Christensen and Rachel Bilson called off their 18-month engagement, with distance being blamed for the split - she's based in L.A., he in Toronto.
Getting a little further into the relationship, actors Jonathon Schaech and Jana Kramer were married July 4th - but filed for divorce this week.

Dating in the Dark host weds country singer

The premise behind Dating in the Dark is simple - stick fairly shallow,m gorgeous folk in a dark room with a potential unattractive suitor and watch them squirm about the possibility of finding a love match with a 'lesser specimen,' then try to get them to look past appearances and decide whether or not the emotional connection is enough to overlook the physical.

Host Rossi Morreale doesn't say whether the show makes him as cynical about love as the rest of us, but he has revealed that he loves his beautiful blonde - Kacey Coppola of twin sister country duo Kate and Kacey.

The couple were married in a barefoot beach ceremony Saturday, August 7th at the Grande Antigua Resort & Spa in St. John's in front of 60 guests. The wedding was co-officiated by Morreale's childhood pastor and an Antiguan marriage officer, and Kacey's sisters Kara and Kate served as Matron of Honor and Twin of Honor, respectively (Kacey served as Maid of Honor for Kate's Colorado wedding last year.)

This is the first marriage for Morreale and Coppola, who met on the set of Can You Duet in 2008 and were engaged in Playa del Carmen.

Carrie Underwood wants a big-haired wedding

Currently planning her wedding to Ottawa Senators hockey star Mike Fisher, country singer Carrie Underwood was happy to display her $150,000 yellow-diamond Johnathon Arndt engagement ring - offering a much better view than the first glimpse a few weeks ago at a Senators' home game.

She talked to both Us and People while she navigated the red carpet at last night's People's Choice Awards, offering both some details on her wedding plans.

She told Us, "I bought a lot of magazines and am cutting out pictures. I have a folder and I cut out pictures and glue them in. It’s in kind of a binder thing."

Of her dress, the undecided star says she'll probably go with, "someone I’ve worked with before that I know I can work well with" to design it. "I want something pretty traditional," she said. "Maybe with flowers on it - not like real flowers!"

Telling People that all she really wants is "a groom, good food, and an open bar," she told them of how she hoped to look on her big day: "I'm Southern. I like big hair and eyeliner. I want my wedding day to be me, so I'll probably be rocking some big hair and some eyeliner."

The newly engaged couple have not yet set a wedding date.

Carrie Underwood: Fiance's a better wedding planner than he thought!

In an interview with Ottawa sports radio station Team 1200, the official radio station of her future hubby, Mike Fisher's, Ottawa Senators NHL hockey team, country singer Carrie Underwood dished on some of her wedding planning since getting engaged on December 20th.

Talking to host Steve Warne, Underwood said of Fisher, "He jumps in, and he always says he doesn't. He's like, 'Oh, I don't care. Just whatever you want!'...But then I go and ask him, 'What do you think about this?' and he'll go 'Oh, no,' and he'll weigh in. I think he's going to be more involved than he initially thought he wanted to be, which is good. I need help."

And though they've begun to plan the big day, Underwood said there was "no date" set. "Our schedules don't provide us too much time to get married and have time to really enjoy being married," she explained. "We're trying to really work it out and move some stuff around."

Her new personal trainer, Ottawa-based Tony Greco, is "kicking my butt," she revealed. "I need it. Especially with a tour coming up and a wedding to look good for."

Carrie Underwood gets engaged to hockey player beau!

Country superstar Carrie Underwood got an early Christmas present over the weekend - an engagement ring from forward Mike Fisher of the NHL's Ottawa Senators!

In a statement to People, Underwood's rep said, "I'm happy to confirm that Carrie Underwood is engaged to Mike Fisher, and the couple couldn't be happier. No wedding date has been set at this time."

Fisher himself confirmed the news to the Toronto Star today, saying, "It's true. We're both obviously excited and very happy."

Reportedly Fisher, 29, proposed to Underwood, 26, at his Ottawa-area home on Sunday afternoon, then texted the news to family and friends once she accepted.

Underwood and Fisher, who have kept their relationship largely out of the public eye, have been together for about a year. Though Underwood has regularly been spotted in the stands at Ottawa Senators home and away games, the pair has never appeared together at an official public event.
