Bret Michaels: Odds of marrying Kristi Gibson "50/50"

Just a few short years ago, Poison frontman Bret Michaels and his on-off girlfriend of 16 years, Kristi Gibson, were probably facing odds of "1 in 100" to wed, the rocker told People this week in Las Vegas. In that time, he completed three seasons of his reality dating show Rock of Love, but wound up single every time. But now, following a near-fatal brain hemorrhage earlier this year, Michaels says the odds of marrying Gibson are now about "50/50."

"We've been talking a lot about getting engaged, and we'll see what happens," said Michaels of Gibson, with whom he has daughters Raine, 10, and Jorja, 5. "We just want to make sure we're not doing it for anyone other than ourselves."

Though the couple were separated when Michaels suffered a brain hemorrhage in the spring, they grew closer than ever during his recovery and live nearby each other in Arizona.

Adds Michaels, a workaholic who hosted the Miss Universe pageant from Sin City Monday night, "Fate has a strange way of intervening in your life, and I think everything just kind of came together," he says. "Hopefully we'll get engaged. But if we don't, we'll still love and respect each other."
